Who is Attorney Thomas C. Taylor?
Our Hilton Head, South Carolina, law firm combines the work of an experienced lawyer and support staff to represent the needs of people facing a broad range of legal issues. Our founding attorney — Thomas Calvin Taylor — was born and raised in South Carolina. He attended Clemson University and graduated first in his class (magna cum laude) from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was on the South Carolina Law Review and taught legal writing.
During law school, Tom worked for the S.C. Senate Judiciary Committee and, upon graduation, joined the prestigious Atlanta-based firm of Troutman Sanders.
For 22 years, Mr. Taylor has served the Lowcountry community as a lawyer and public servant. He is a member of both the South Carolina and Georgia Bar Associations, and is admitted in both states’ Supreme Courts, as well as in the 11th Circuit Federal Court of Appeals in Virginia, the Federal District Court of South Carolina and both the northern and southern Federal District Courts of Georgia. He is also certified by the South Carolina Board of Arbitrator and Mediator Certification as a Circuit Court Mediator.
Mr. Taylor is active in this community, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Conservation Bank, which has helped preserve thousands of acres of natural land for future generations of South Carolinians. He served on the Beaufort County Council for 12 years, six as Chairman. He is the former Co-Chairman of Citizens For Open Space, a Rotarian (a Paul Harris Fellow), a Board Member of the American Cancer Society of the Lowcountry, and a former Board Member of the Boys and Girls Club. He served on the Governor’s Task Force On Base Closure, is an active member and former chairman of the St. Andrew By-The-Sea United Methodist Church, and is a graduate and former Board Member of Leadership Hilton Head.
